FAQ
Why is it not possible to buy the prints framed?
It was difficult for me to decide not to offer at least a few picture frames for purchase on my website. I know that this decision imposes an additional task on my customers. However, this is the only way to provide the freedom to choose the most suitable frame for the artwork.
The world of picture frames is surprisingly vast. The number of possible frame variations ranges from modest estimates of 3,000 to 5,000, not to mention the different levels of quality available.
I felt that even if I were to offer a few frame options, it would be a meagre selection that does not meet my quality standards. And that is unacceptable to me.
However, once you have purchased one of my pieces, I will send you a list of quality picture frame providers from which you can choose a frame that suits your preferences.
I create and sell creative artwork. If you've read my 'About' page, you'll know that I am neither a printing nor a picture framing specialist. I provide my customers with the experience and creativity.
Why is there only one print of an image?
I'm well aware that if I were to mass-produce my images like many others do, I could sell them at a significantly lower price and potentially expect greater profits from each piece. But it makes me sad when a creative creation becomes a mass-produced piece.
While I don’t claim my artworks to possess monumental artistic value, each piece is infused with time, effort, and perhaps a spark of creativity. I like to believe that someone will appreciate them and see in them what I intended to convey. I know many images serve simple, decorative purposes. But let's be honest: even copies of brilliant masterpieces often end up as mere decorations, and thus their artistic value sadly fades away. Even if my images don't represent great artistic value, I cherish the idea that there's only one of each.
Is there an ‘original’ piece?
If we define 'the original' as the single digital file from which the print is made, then yes, there is one. However, this original file is permanently deleted no later than 14 days after the sale of a print, ensuring the exclusivity of your artwork. I always keep a low-resolution version because I enjoy showcasing the sold images on my website. Moreover, I feel a connection to every single image, which is why I like to retain a file, no matter how low the quality. I realise it might sound a bit sentimental, but that's just how I am.
Why do prices vary for prints of the same size and medium?
The prices reflect the amount of work and difficulty of the creation of the images. Given that I sell a print exclusively in a single copy, the price of images of the same size and printed on the same media can vary significantly. Some might be created more quickly, while others demand more time and intricacy, leading to diverse pricing for technically similar artworks.
I like an image, but it’s no longer available for purchase. What can I do?
Please send a message through the Contact page, mentioning which artwork caught your eye and also write why you liked it. While the exact piece may no longer be available, understanding what you liked allows me to create something similar in spirit. This way, you can still experience the joy and essence you were drawn to. And just like the original, your custom piece will come with a Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring its uniqueness.
Do you create portraits of people?
The truth is, I feel I'm not good enough at it. I've certainly tried my hand at portraiture, but somehow, I've never been satisfied with the results. Capturing the infinite expressiveness of the human face requires a lot of courage, which I admit I lack. Therefore, I prefer to stick to creating images that I feel are ‘right’.
I've received the artwork, but I don't like it. What can I do?
While I strive to present the artworks in a way that leaves no room for surprises for the buyer, it's naturally possible that you might not like the purchased artwork. If you decide within 14 days of receiving the artwork that it's not for you, please contact me through the Contact page to discuss the details of returning the piece. Once the artwork returns in its original, undamaged condition, preferably in its original packaging, I will refund the full amount you paid at purchase.
Of course, I will ask why you've decided to return it. I would appreciate an answer, as I'm keen to understand what didn't appeal to you about the artwork, but rest assured, your response is not a condition for the refund.
How are these pictures made?
Each artwork begins with a vision which often leads to a digital sketch, laying the foundation for the artwork's colour scheme, style and composition. While AI technology is part of my toolkit, it's essential to highlight that the final character and aesthetic of each piece are shaped by myself. AI helps speed up certain processes, but the idea, composition, structure, critical refinements, adjustments, and finishing touches are mine to make. In total, I use 5-6 different software tools to complete an image. Having started working with graphic software 25 years ago, I use them with great routine and am always on the lookout for new possibilities and tools. I don’t hide the role of AI, but the creation is not its credit.
Why can I find similar images on other websites for much cheaper?
One reason is that websites selling art prints likely do not offer the same quality of prints. The prints you purchase from vantarique.com are produced with high-quality printing on exceptional media.
Another reason is that I sell each of my digital artworks in only a single copy. This means the buyer can be confident they own something truly unique, which no one else possesses. I'm aware this approach might result in fewer sales and lower income for me. However, I believe in the value of the uniqueness of my images to the person who decides to purchase that one-of-a-kind piece.
What media are the images printed on?
If you choose paper:
Painting-like works are produced on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 305gsm smooth paper, known for its high quality and durability. Made from 100% cotton, this paper features a smooth surface that ensures sharp details and vibrant colors when combined with Giclée printing technology. This combination guarantees long-lasting prints that resist fading over time, making each artwork a lasting investment.
For line graphics images, I decided to use Canson Photo Lustre Premium 310gsm, a paper that stands out for its premium quality and robustness. This heavyweight paper has a subtle lustre finish that enhances the depth and color of each image. Its 310gsm weight gives each print a substantial feel and durability, while the lustre coating provides a slight sheen that reduces glare and fingerprints. Combined with Giclée printing, Canson Photo Lustre Premium ensures long-lasting prints with rich, accurate colors and excellent image sharpness.
If you choose canvas:
Canvas prints are produced on Hahnemühle Daguerre 400 gsm poly-cotton canvas, chosen for its exceptional strength and print quality. This heavyweight canvas combines the texture and feel of traditional canvas with the durability and versatility of a poly-cotton blend. The 400 gsm weight ensures a sturdy and reliable base for our prints, while the fine surface texture enhances the visual depth of each artwork. When paired with Giclée printing, the Hahnemühle Daguerre canvas delivers vibrant colors, sharp details, and a print that will last for generations.
Please note that not every image can be printed on both paper and canvas. This is because certain artworks would significantly lose quality if printed on canvas. Detailed, line drawing, or vector graphic style art prints do not fare well on canvas. However, for watercolor or oil painting style images, printing on canvas can enhance their aesthetic appeal.
I like an image, but none of the available sizes fit my needs.
Please reach out to me via the Contact page and let me know which image you're interested in. Also, specify the size you're looking for. Keep in mind that while I can deviate from the sizes listed on the website, the aspect ratio of the image cannot be altered. For example, if only A1 and A2 sizes are available for an image, but you need a size in between, I can print it in dimensions like 370x523 mm, maintaining the approximate 7:10 ratio.
